Coaches Corner
Special Olympics Massachusetts provides year-round athletic training and competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The training, of course, requires dedicated volunteer adult and teen coaches who can work with one or more athletes on a regular basis.
Regardless if you have experience coaching or not, Special Olympics Massachusetts needs you. You bring the enthusiasm and some knowledge and we will provide the training you need to be a successful coach. When you become a coach, you will find the rewards go far beyond the finish line. You will help athletes discover their physical skills, their self-worth, their courage and their capacity to grow.
Being a SOMA coach is one of the most important and rewarding volunteer roles. That is why 8,000 men and women in Massachusetts choose to share their time and talent with SOMA athletes. Please contact George Kent, Director of Organizational Development with any questions regarding coaching for Special Olympics Massachusetts via e-mail or by phone at 978-750-0632.
