The Summer Season at Special Olympics MA is wrapping up with the annual August Tournament of Champions. These events span four different sports (Softball, Cycling, Bocce, and Golf) and take place throughout Massachusetts from Springfield to the South Shore.
These state-level and regional tournaments include over 1,000 athletes from across the state along with their coaches, families and friends and take place throughout the month of August.
Teams train and compete all summer long to reach this stage and will be competing at their highest level. Spectators are encouraged to stop by one of the venues to cheer on the athletes!

The August Tournament of Champions encompasses the State and Regional Tournaments for softball, cycling, bocce, golf, and sailing. You can expect high level play as athletes compete for medals and to show the State what they are capable of.
No! The August Tournament of Champions is the state tournament for our summer sports, but we host competitions year-round across four sports seasons. In fact, we typically run over 750 competitions each year. Some are for our community teams others are interscholastic games and meets. Either way, we are averaging more than two inclusive sports competitions per day!
