Meet Xtra Mile Falmouth Road Race Runner, Lindsy Graichen!

August 16, 2018

Lindsy Graichen has run in at least 25 different races, but this year will be her first year running as a part of Team Xtra Mile for Special Olympics Massachusetts. In 2014, she began formally working with a Special Olympics group in Milford. Although she hasn't run for Special Olympics Massachusetts yet, she is looking forward to building a long-lasting relationship with the organization through her volunteering and running.

For Lindsy, running is something that allows her to feel great after she's finished, so she uses this feeling to stay motivated. ''It's the moments we feel scared, challenged, or excited that remind us that we are alive and can accomplish anything," she said. She says that her love of pizza and knowing how great she will feel after a run also help keep her motivated.

For fundraising, Lindsy is getting support from her friends, family and coworkers, and is motivated by her love for Special Olympics and running. She will be training for other races besides the Falmouth Road Race this summer, so she will be ready to run for Team Xtra Mile and Special Olympics by the time the race comes!

We wish you the best of luck with your training and running the Falmouth Road Race, Lindsy!
